Today Google has announced what it’s calling “a major update” to the Photo to video feature in Google Photos. You now get “more creative control” to turn your images into “dynamic short videos”.
That’s because you can now use text prompts for video generation, provided you are over 18. You can type a custom text prompt to describe the movement, style, or effect you want, and easily edit and refine your prompts to fine-tune the resulting video.
If you don’t know what to ask for, you still get the existing Subtle Movement and I’m feeling lucky options that were there before, but there are now also prompt suggestions, which you can tap for “instant video inspiration”.
Every video you create from an image, regardless of whether you use Google’s templates or a custom prompt, “may now include audio by default to enhance your dynamic creations”, Google says.
